Who or what is Andarna?

A dragon from Rebecca Yarros's The Empyrean series (Fourth Wing, Iron Flame). Andarna is Violet Sorrengail's SECOND bonded dragon — the unprecedented second bond that makes Violet the only rider in living memory bonded to two dragons (the other being Tairn). She begins as a small golden "feathertail" (a juvenile-stage dragon, long thought too young/rare to bond and almost never seen outside the Vale). She is later revealed to belong to a mysterious near-mythic Seventh Breed — an iridescent ("irid") dragon able to change the color of her scales — and carries a rare time-related gift. She is sweet and childlike when introduced, and matures dramatically across the series.

What's the story behind Andarna?

Basgiath War College — iron gates, worn stone corridors, the Parapet's exposed walkway above a thousand-foot drop, the Riders Quadrant arena floor, thunderheads rolling in over the valley, training grounds scored by dragon landings, wind constant and cold at altitude, smoke drifting from the forge quarter, the cliffs of Navarre falling away into cloud.
