Twelve venin. One capital. That's the horror.
Suniva is the moment the scale of the venin stops being abstract: twelve of them end a capital and its queen. Maraya falls, the old Poromiel falls with her, and what rises from the ash is Tecarus's kingship and — finally — an alliance with Navarre. It's the atrocity that proves how fast the dark advances when everyone in power would rather call it something else.
