Designed by Tracy
Hi. I'm Tracy.
I started Caffeine and Curses as a Bookstagram account because I needed people to scream about fictional men with. That was it. That was the whole business plan.
Then I started drawing.
And honestly? The drawing is the part I can't stop. The business grew around it — the systems, the shipping, the logistics, the things that make a founder's eyes glaze over — but the drawing is the thing that keeps me up at 1am with my iPad balanced on my knees while my cats judge me.
Every design you see on this site started as a sketch while I was emotionally compromised by a book. That's not a marketing line. The Manon design happened because I finished Kingdom of Ash and needed to DO something with the feelings. The Violence design happened because Xaden said one word and I lost my entire mind.
I'm not an illustrator who happens to read. I'm a reader who happens to illustrate. The obsession comes first. The art comes from it.
The process (such as it is)
I read the book. I feel things. I grab my iPad. I draw until the feeling looks right. Then I obsess over colours and fonts and placements until Tracy-at-3am is satisfied, which she never fully is.
Then I submit it for author approval, hold my breath, and refresh my email forty times.
What I care about
That when you wear it, another fan recognises it. Not because it says the title of the book across the chest. Because the FEELING is right. Because the design captures the thing you felt reading that scene at midnight.
That's it. That's the whole job.
Every design is mine
I draw every single design myself. No templates. No stock art. No AI. Just me, my iPad, and whatever fictional character is currently living rent-free in my head.
All artwork is the sole copyright of Caffeine and Curses Pty Ltd. If you see it somewhere without my name on it — that's not us. Please report it and let us know. We will take action.
