Aretia · Tyrrendor · the rebel city
Aretia
“Tyrrendor should already be one of the safest provinces on the Continent. Well, except Aretia. Where that capital should be, there is only a scorch mark, as though the burning of the city has singed the map as well.”
Fourth Wing — Rebecca Yarros
Navarre burned it to the ground and struck it off the map — so of course it's still standing, greener than before, arming the war they swore wasn't coming.
A dead city hidden in a warm valley, rebuilt in secret out of Riorson House: the Assembly, the forge, the wardstone, and the truth Basgiath filed under never-happened.
At a glance
- Region
- Eastern Tyrrendor, the southernmost province — roughly eighteen hours' dragon flight from Basgiath, ringed by the Cliffs of Dralor.
- What it is
- The razed Tyrrish capital, rebuilt in secret. Officially a scorch mark. Actually the heart of the Revolution.
- Who holds it
- The Assembly and House Riorson — Xaden's inheritance, Brennan's command.
- Notable
- Identical green roofs over the ruin, a warm valley where snow never settles, one fortress that outlived the fire.
- The forge
- A luminary hot enough to smelt the alloy that actually kills venin — the reason the marked ones can fight back at all.
- What happened here
- Violet woke up poisoned, learned her brother wasn't dead, and found out the whole kingdom's been lying.
- Status
- Rebuilding, armed, and not asking Navarre's permission.
- Home to
- Xaden, Brennan, the marked ones, and every Tyrrish who refused to stay erased.
Who's here
