Violet Sorrengail is the protagonist and first-person narrator of Rebecca Yarros's The Empyrean series (Fourth Wing, Iron Flame). Born to a powerful Navarrian military family and trained as a scribe, she is forced by her general mother into the lethal Riders Quadrant at Basgiath War College despite a connective-tissue chronic illness that leaves her physically fragile.
