Should I read Crescent City before A Court of Splintered Harmony?
The short answer
10 out of 10 recommend it.
Why I'd read Crescent City first
You can technically read Splintered Harmony with bare minimal context to get you through. You can get by, just. But there are things that happen that just simply won't make sense, and there are things that you cannot work around.
And it can't even be book 1. You cannot fully put it together without reading Crescent City all the way to the end of book 3. Has to be the full trilogy.
I would not be going into Forgotten Melody without having read Crescent City.
I'm not trying to spoil it, so I won't say what. It's just about the whole reading order and bits and pieces like that. There are things that happen.
The reading order
This is the order I'd go in. Tap a cover for the blurb, or add it straight to Goodreads.
