A Court of Thorns and Roses · The Realm
Prythian
Seven courts. One realm. Eternal spring beside endless night.
The Realm · A Court of Thorns and Roses
A jewel-box continent of seven warring courts.
Prythian is the faerie land north of the Wall — each of its seven High Courts its own season or hour, from eternal spring to endless night. This is the grand entrance to the whole realm. Choose a court below →
Four courts wear the seasons — Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter. Three wear the hours of light — Dawn, Day, and the Night Court. Between them lies the Middle, the wild land no court owns, and beyond the Wall, the Mortal Lands where a starving huntress once loosed an ash arrow and began everything. The Seven High Courts
Choose a court. Step inside.
Each court is its own world within the world — its own ruler, its own season, its own register of light. Every door opens onto its full hub.

Beyond the Courts
The places no single court owns.
The hidden city, the wild Middle, the Prison, the broken Wall, and the mortal lands south of it — the geography the whole saga is fought across.
Lore & Relics · The Realm
The Cauldron, the Trove, and the wars.
The magic the courts are built on — the vessel that made the world, the three relics it forged, and the two wars that drew every court together.
The Cauldron
The bottomless iron vessel that predates High Fae and mortals — every drop of magic in Prythian was poured from it. Tip it over and you remake the world; the King of Hybern tried, and the Archeron sisters were thrown in.
The Dread Trove — Mask, Harp & Crown
Three relics the Cauldron made. The Mask commands the dead; the Harp bends space and time and sang the Prison into being; the Crown bends minds. Nesta Archeron is the only being who can summon all three.
The Blood Rite
The brutal Illyrian trial on the slopes of Ramiel. Nesta, Gwyn and Emerie were the first females ever to enter it — and the first to walk back out, Carynthian.
The Wall & the Two Wars
Five hundred years ago faeries and humans fought seven years, and the Wall went up to end it. When Hybern broke the Wall, the second war drew every court together — and remade the map.
The Mating Bond
Not a choice — a certainty the body knows before the heart admits it. Two souls recognise each other across a war, and the world reorders around them: Feyre and Rhysand, Nesta and Cassian, Elain and her unspoken.
Powers of the Courts
Daemati mind-walking, Azriel's shadow-singing, Morrigan's winnowing, Nesta's silver death-fire, Helion's spell-cleaving light. The rarest gifts run in the oldest blood.

Found Family Strangers who chose each other.
Souls with nowhere to belong who built a court out of loyalty — and would burn Prythian to ash before they lost one more of their own.

A huntress, a masked beast, and a wall between worlds — every great Prythian love starts as a debt to be paid in blood.
Shop this trope →Touch Her and Die Every male in this realm goes feral.
Cassian, Azriel, Rhysand — calm, lethal, and utterly undone the instant their mate is threatened. The quiet ones are the worst.
Shop this trope →Shadow Daddy Quiet, lethal, devoted.
Azriel and his living shadows; Rhysand and the cruelty he wears like armour. Dangerous to everyone but the one they love.
Shop this trope →The Cinnamon Roll & The Brute Soft hearts and scarred hands.
Elain's gardens and Cassian's wars; the realm runs on the gentle ones who survive the violent world, and the violent ones gentled by love.

Questions
What readers ask about Prythian.
How many courts are there in Prythian?
Seven High Courts. Four seasonal — Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter — and three solar: Dawn, Day, and the Night Court.
What order should I read ACOTAR in?
A Court of Thorns and Roses, then Mist and Fury, then Wings and Ruin, then the Frost and Starlight novella, then A Court of Silver Flames (Nesta's book). A sixth Court novel is announced.
Who is the most powerful High Lord?
Rhysand of the Night Court — the most powerful High Lord ever born, half-High-Fae and half-Illyrian — though Helion of the Day Court and the ancient Beings each hold power of their own.
Is Prythian connected to Throne of Glass and Crescent City?
Yes — the Maasverse links them. Made blades, ancient gods, and a star-born bloodline cross between Prythian, Crescent City, and Throne of Glass.
