Ramiel
“Black stone, and a silence older than the war-lords who feared it.”
Ramiel · the heart of Illyria
An onyx crown over Illyria.
Black-stoned, untouched, the holy mountain at the heart of the Blood Rite — with that onyx monolith at the peak nobody's supposed to reach. We know exactly who reached it.

What it is · The holy mountain
Older than the war-lords who fear it.
A single mass of black stone the Illyrians have held holy for as long as they've flown its skies, rising sacred and untouched above the steppes. Not a place you climb for the view. It's the spine of the Blood Rite, and the monolith at its peak is the oldest, most guarded thing in all of Illyria. The mountain doesn't care who you are.
The Blood Rite · Its purpose
The mountain is the test.
Scattered into the wilds, wings bound, weapons gone — and the only way out is to fight your way back to Ramiel and lay a hand on the sacred stone. The mountain is the finish line, the altar, and the witness all at once. Reach the base, you've won. Most don't.
The onyx monolith · Carynthian
Two women climbed where no one is meant to.
The rite asks no one to reach the monolith at the summit. Gwyn and Emerie went past the base and all the way up anyway, hands on the black stone itself, and walked back down as Carynthian — a thing out of legend, written back into the history the world had tried to bury. Still not over it.

Canon
“A towering, barren mountain, void of life yet somehow thrumming with presence. Snow and pines crusted the smaller peaks around it, but this strange, bald mountain — only a black stone jutted from its top. A monolith.”
