A Court of Thorns and Roses · Spring Court
Spring Court Manor
The roses still bloom on the grounds, though no one tends them now — and the thorns have learned to climb.
Tamlin's estate. Beautiful, gilded, and quietly a cage.
Rose gardens and gold-warm halls at the green heart of the Spring Court. It dazzled her first, then closed around her like a fist. The day she left, the grounds went feral with bramble — the estate finally swallowed by the thorns it was named for. We saw it coming. We didn't want to.
The Place
A Court That Never Sees Winter
Endless bloom. Roses, green hills, warm air that never turns to frost. The estate matches the court it rules — opulent, sun-touched, hung with fine things, built to be admired. To a starving painter from a frozen cottage, it was abundance she couldn't have dreamed. The beauty was never the problem. We all know what the beauty was hiding.
The Cage
Gilded, and Locked From the Outside
Sanctuary, then confinement. After everything she survived, the manor's comfort curdled into control — Tamlin's fear hardening into walls, his protectiveness into surveillance, until there wasn't a single door she was free to walk through. The roses kept blooming. The halls kept gleaming. And she kept vanishing, rose by rose, in the house of a man who loved her wrong. The woman who crossed a wall to be free. Locked in.
The Ruin
What the Thorns Reclaimed
She left, and something went with her. The Spring Court frayed under its High Lord, and the manor's careful order finally let go — bramble over the paths, thorns up the walls, the tended grounds running wild. The estate named for thorns, overtaken by them. A beautiful house left to the green and the dark, still holding the shape of everything it failed to keep. Poetic, in the worst way.
