The War-Island Across the Sea · Seat of the King of Hybern
Hybern
An ancient war-kingdom of cold iron and old smoke, ruled by the King who would unmake the world.
Across the sea from Prythian, sealed behind grey storm and the long memory of a war that never truly ended — the fortress that held the Cauldron, and the throne where conquest was patient.

What Hybern Is
Hybern is the island kingdom set across the sea from Prythian — old, hard and unhealed, a land that has worn war the way other courts wear seasons. Its heart is a fortress of Hybern stone: a war-keep of grey walls and long halls, where an ancient war-throne sits at the centre of everything the kingdom is. The air carries bone and ancient iron, the tang of old-war smoke; the sky stays battle-grey, ash-streaked, moved by a cold-iron wind. Nothing here is bright. Everything here is patient. It is a place that has been waiting a very long time.
The Conqueror's Seat
What Happens There
From this fortress the King of Hybern set out to unmake the borders of the world — to tear down the wall between mortal lands and faerie and rule what was left. Hybern is where the Cauldron was kept and wielded: the relic by which the King meant to remake creation, and into which mortal women were forced and drawn out as something new and High Fae. It is the engine-room of the War with Hybern, the cold patient power that loosed conquest on Prythian. With the King slain, the fortress is sealed — but the kingdom remains a name spoken like a wound that never fully closed.
