Prythian · The Neutral Heart
The Middle of Prythian
The wild land that belongs to no court — older than their borders, ruled by nothing but the ancient things that live there.
The wild land no court owns.
Seven courts ring it and not one dares claim it. The green, mist-thick centre of Prythian, older than every border, ruled by nothing but the ancient things that live there. The Weaver keeps her cottage in the silence. The Suriel walk the trees. We knew the rules weren't ours the second Rhysand took Feyre in.
The place · Belonging to none
Older than the borders.
Seven courts, seven High Lords, seven sets of law — and the Middle answers to none of them. It's the green heart they grew around and never managed to tame. The powers living there are older than any crown, and the courts know better than to press a claim into it. Stand in the Middle and no High Lord's word holds. Whatever finds you finds you on its own ancient terms. Outside protection entirely. We wouldn't go either.
The things that live there
The Weaver and the Suriel.
Deep in the wood, in a quiet little cottage, the Weaver of the Wood hums over her loom — thread that isn't thread, fed on whatever wanders close. It's her house Rhysand brings Feyre into for one small carved ring, and Feyre barely walks back out. Among the trees, the Suriel: gaunt, cloaked, knowing, caught only by the desperate willing to bargain for the truth. The oldest, least trustworthy magic in Prythian, all gathered in one ungoverned wood. We held our breath the whole chapter.
