A Temple of Priestesses · Destroyed
Sangravah
“Once there was candlelight here, and song. Then there was smoke.”
Sangravah · A Court of Thorns and Roses
A holy place, gone to ash.
Where Gwyn and Catrin were raised. We know how this one ends, and we still flinch.
At a glance
Before the smoke.
What it was
Candlelight and song.
A temple, and the priestesses raised in it gave their lives to service. Gwyn and Catrin grew up here — sheltered, faithful, far from the wars of the High Lords. Candlelight, ritual, song. Home. We're holding onto that part for as long as we can.
The raid
Then Hybern came.
His forces fell on Sangravah and razed it. Catrin and the priestesses killed; the temple that raised them undone in a single, brutal stroke. Gwyn survived, and carried that day with her long after the smoke cleared. We don't say her sister's name lightly. We're not okay about it.
What came after
From ash, sanctuary.
She made her way to the Library beneath the House of Wind, where the priestesses of the Night Court take in those with nowhere left to go. Sangravah was gone. Its last daughter wasn't. And in that quiet, slowly, she started finding her way back. That's the part that ruins us.
