Priestess · Valkyrie · The Night Court
Gwyn Berdara
“I am the rock against which the surf crashes. Nothing can break me.”
Gwyn Berdara · A Court of Silver Flames
Light that survived the dark.
Priestess of the library beneath the House of Wind, and a founding sister of the revived Valkyries — the voice that sings, and glows.
At a glance
The shape of her.
Who she is
Bookish, brave, unbroken.
Quick-witted and warm — humour and courage that surface through grief. Three-quarters High Fae, one-quarter river-nymph; raised in the temple at Sangravah, known for her singing and the light that rises with it.
The wound beneath
Sangravah, and Catrin.
When Hybern raided the temple she hid the children and stayed behind; her twin Catrin was killed before her. Azriel reached her and carried her to the House of Wind. She hid in the library — until Nesta drew her out, and she learned she could be strong.
Her people
The ones who drew her out.
Her arc
From the library, to the summit.
Hidden
She would not leave the library, where Nesta found her.
Drawn out
Into the Valkyrie training — then first of the three to cut the ribbon.
The Blood Rite
Kidnapped and forced in — one of the first females ever.
Carynthian
She reached the summit of Ramiel and touched the onyx monolith.
— The Turn —
“Because I don't ever want to feel powerless again.”
A Court of Silver Flames
In her words
In her own words.
