Target practice

What the books lead with, for Fallon, is the Valg in her blood — said to run stronger in the demon twins than in the rest of the coven, offered as an explanation and pointedly not as an excuse. The evidence is the throwing practice at the Ferian Gap, where she and Faline set living witches up as the targets, and the brawl at the Omega that costs the pair of them three unprotected blows each from Manon. She arrives in the story as the part of the coven with nothing redeeming in it yet.

Morath, and Kaltain's fire

Fallon is one of the six who fly into Morath to get Elide Lochan out before the Valg can breed her. They clear the walls with her, and on the way out Kaltain Rompier tears the Valg prince out of her own body and lets the shadowfire go — about a third of Morath comes down, which incidentally burns every trace of what the Thirteen have just done. They barely outrun the blast. Nobody ever works out that it was them, which buys the Thirteen exactly one more book before the Matron comes for them anyway.

Eyllwe

The Thirteen reach a settlement in Eyllwe too late to save anyone, so they bury the dead instead. Fallon digs. There is no audience for it and no advantage in it, and it is the single thing that makes the Crochan witches — five centuries into hating everything with iron teeth — look at this coven again and revise. The witch who threw knives at living targets for fun turns out to be part of how the war gets ended.

Down laughing

At Orynth she and Faline Yield together, somewhere in the middle of the order, laughing on the way out — the same laugh from the Ferian Gap, aimed now at a witch tower instead of at a witch who could not fight back. The Yielding is the only magic an Ironteeth has and it costs her everything to spend it once. Nobody made her. Not one of the Thirteen was ordered up that tower; they put their Wing Leader on the ground precisely so she could not order them down.
