Rhoe Galathynius

He taught his daughter that a blade is for defending, never for attacking — and then couldn't defend her, or himself, in his own bed.

Rhoe Galathynius is Aelin's father and the Crown Prince of Terrasen, from Throne of Glass — heir to his uncle King Orlon, a warrior-prince who never wore the crown, murdered the same night as his king. His death is the wound the whole seven-book saga is built on.

What he loves

Prince of Terrasen

Aelin's father, one of the last to hold the line before the kingdom fell in a single night.

  • Evalin

The Ashryver he married — Wendlyn and Terrasen joined in one house.

  • Aelin

His daughter, his heir, the fire he'd have died to keep safe.

  • Terrasen

The kingdom he served, and the one he was killed defending.

  • The three of them

A wife, a daughter, a home — the whole of his world under one roof.

His heart

Evalin

He loved the woman he'd married and the daughter they'd made between them, two peoples bound in one child. They were murdered the same night he was — the coup that ended Terrasen took his whole house at once. Everything he loved lived and fell in the space of that single night.

We're Caffeine and Curses. The Library started as my design research — I can't put Manon on a shirt without knowing which way the iron teeth snap — so we keep the notes here where everyone can use them. The pages are fan-made, not official; the licensed designs are in the shop.
