Kashin

Everyone told him his little sister jumped. He was the only one who refused to believe it — and being right cost him more than being wrong ever could have.

Kashin is the fourth-born of the great khagan Urus and general of the khaganate's land armies, in Tower of Dawn — the soldier-prince who'd rather sleep among his horse-lords than sit at court, carrying two quiet griefs no army could fix.

What he loves

The ones at his back.

A prince who chose the saddle and the front line over the scheming — and the people who ride behind him.

  • His soldiers

The riders at his back. He learns their names, and he does not spend them cheaply.

  • His siblings

Rival heirs, every one — and still his blood. The succession never changed that for him.

  • The cavalry

Give him a good horse and open ground and he is exactly where he belongs.

  • The khaganate

The empire he would hold the line for. Not for a throne. For the people standing behind it.

His heart

The people at his back

Ask him what he would die for and he will not say a crown. He would say the soldiers on the line beside him — the ones he would never send somewhere he would not ride first. That is the whole of him: steady, loyal, first through the gate, and honest to the family who spends its life circling the throne he never wanted.

We're Caffeine and Curses. The Library started as my design research — I can't put Manon on a shirt without knowing which way the iron teeth snap — so we keep the notes here where everyone can use them. The pages are fan-made, not official; the licensed designs are in the shop.
