Edda is a sentinel of the Thirteen — a coven the Blackbeak Matron built to be cruel, and which loved each other anyway. That was the whole quiet rebellion, long before the war turned: thirteen witches who were meant to be weapons and were sisters instead. At Orynth, Edda gave the Yielding with eleven of them. Only the Wing Leader was left to remember it.
