Briar loves a home she's never seen and a coven she'd cross the whole world beside to reach it.

    Manon, who turned the whole coven toward a better fight. Briar turned with her.

The Thirteen

Briar is a sentinel of the Thirteen, bred for Erawan's war and pointed, in the end, at something better. The dream that held the coven together was the Wastes — home, the witch-kingdom taken from them centuries before. Briar didn't live to see it. She gave the Yielding at Orynth with eleven of her sisters, so that someone would. That is what she loved.
