Adarlan burned the kingdom, murdered the royals, severed the magic — then called Terrasen dead. We always knew the lost heir would bring it back.
Terrasen is the ancient northern kingdom of Erilea — founded by Brannon Galathynius, capital at Orynth beneath the Staghorns, fire-blessed and watched over by a white stag. On paper it reads like a birthright: Aelin's crown to win back. That's what you clock first, and it undersells everything. Because Terrasen was murdered — the royals killed, magic severed at the root, the great library burned, the throne left cold ten years. What comes home isn't an inheritance. It's a kingdom rebuilt from ash by everyone who survived to see it — held less by its walls than by an oath: to whatever end. By the last book you're not reading about a place. You're homesick for one.
The Court of Terrasen
The ones who came back for a kingdom that had already fallen.
Adarlan took every one of these. Not one of them stayed taken.
Brannon's city on the Florine — opal towers, the Staghorns at its back, the throne of Terrasen inside. Adarlan sacked it and burned the great library to ash. It's where the last stand is fought, and where the North finally comes home.
Enter Orynth
The oldest wood in Erilea, dense enough to swallow noon. The Little Folk still leave gifts for anyone who watches; in the dark the Lord of the North walks, a white stag crowned in living flame. The ban never reached the roots.
The range that walls off the top of the world, snow to the treeline, the Florine born at their feet. They share their name with Terrasen's sigil, the stag — and its stubbornness. Little crosses the Staghorns the North won't allow.
The coastal city as old as Terrasen itself, where Brannon first set foot on the continent. The Temple of the Stone still marks the rock he touched — pale cliffs, endless ocean behind it. Aelin takes it back long before Orynth.
The kingdom's second city, seat of House Lochan. When Terrasen fell, Vernon seized it and locked his niece in a tower for ten years. Elide — the rightful Lady of Perranth — got out on a ruined ankle and never stopped coming for it.
We're Caffeine and Curses. The Library started as my design research — I can't put Aelin on a shirt without knowing which hand holds Goldryn — so we keep the notes here where everyone can use them. The pages are fan-made, not official; the licensed designs are in the shop.
