The good witches lost their kingdom five hundred years ago. They spent every year since waiting to be proven right — and a half-Ironteeth queen finally proved them.
The Crochans — the red-cloaked witches who ride brooms, not wyverns. Five centuries ago the Ironteeth sacked their kingdom and their dying queen laid a curse; the whole long grievance ends with the last of her line born on the wrong side of the blood.
