Among the hardened, monster-bred Ironteeth — a coven raised to feel as little as possible — Thea and Kaya are in love. Kaya reserves her smiles for her. The books do not make a speech about it; they just let it be true.

Together

At Orynth the Thirteen incapacitate Manon to keep her out of it, and fly the tower themselves. Thea and Kaya go together, as they had always been. It is one line and it is the reason people cannot read chapter 89 twice.
