The marked ones

The runes

Every province lost its culture to Navarre except this detail: runes, still woven into Tyrrish stone. At Aretia they go back into the curriculum — magic stored in an object for later, the craft that raises wards. The province Navarre tried to flatten kept the one art that could save it.
