Queen Maraya
The queen whose ending rewrites the map. She names Tecarus her heir and then dies when twelve venin burn Suniva to the ground — and old Poromiel dies with her, clearing the way for the alliance that was four hundred years impossible.
Ruler of Poromiel across the old order, and the hinge the kingdom swings on: her succession choice and her death are what pass the crown to an alliance-minded king. Canon keeps her brief — she matters most in the moment she's gone.
The queen who fell
Her death is the turn.
Maraya is a character you feel mostly as an absence — canon spends little time with her, and that's honest to what she is in the story: a crown at the exact moment it changes hands. She names Tecarus heir, Suniva burns, and she goes down with the old capital. What rises from the ash is a Poromiel finally willing to fight beside Navarre against the real enemy. She's the queen whose last act, and last breath, are what make the alliance possible — remembered for the crown that changed hands, not the woman who wore it, and that's the honest shape of her page.
