Riders Quadrant

The lethal one. Parapet at the door, dragons at the end, the highest body count on campus — and the only place that ever fit her.

Cross the parapet, survive to Threshing, get chosen by a dragon — or don't, and plenty don't.

At a glance

Uniform
Rider black. You earn the leathers or you earn nothing.
Signet
Dragon-bonded. Your power is your dragon's gift — no bond, no signet, no future.
What you become
A dragon rider: Navarre's elite, the sharp end of a war the kingdom pretends it's winning.
Odds
The worst survival rate at Basgiath, and nobody upstairs pretends otherwise.
Located
Across the river from the Scribes; the flight field, the sparring gym and the road to the Vale all open off it.
Entry
The parapet. Eighteen inches of rain-slick stone, two hundred feet up, no rail — cross it on Conscription Day or fall.
The point
Threshing. Survive to the end of first year and a dragon chooses you, or walks past and leaves you nothing.
Notable
