Calldyr

Calldyr · Navarre · the crown's own province

Calldyr

The smallest province on the map, and the one the whole kingdom bends toward — because the king sits here, and so does the record of who he's willing to burn.

Navarre's westernmost province and royal seat: Calldyr City, all courts and theatres and battlements crowding grander the nearer they get to the palace. Where the Tyrrish Rebellion's leaders were brought to die by dragonfire — and where their children were branded and sent away.

The royal seat

Small province, whole kingdom's weight.

Barely a smudge on the map, and it runs everything. Every report from the front lands here first, and the throne decides what the rest of Navarre gets to know. The mansions grow grander the nearer they crowd the palace — power measured in how close you sleep to the king.

Where the rebellion ended

The executions everyone downstream is still paying for.

This is where the Great Betrayal was punished. The rebellion's leaders were brought to Calldyr and burned by dragonfire, and their kids were branded with relics and scattered across the quadrants. Every marked one on the parapet started with a sentence handed down here.

Tied to Calldyr

The crown, and the province it burned.

The File

Kingdom
Navarre — its smallest, westernmost province. Luceras to the northeast, Tyrrendor to the south.
What it is
The royal seat. Calldyr City is the political and cultural heart of the kingdom, opulence stacked tighter toward the palace at its centre.
Who holds it
King Tauri and his court — the monarchist counterweight to rebel Tyrrendor.
What happened here
The leaders of the Tyrrish Rebellion were executed by dragonfire; their children were branded and displaced. Xaden among them.
Status
The crown's, still. Where news from the front lands first, and where the throne decides what to do with it.
