Cordyn

The city built for luxury turned out to be the one that could pay for the whole rebellion — in gryphons, in shelter, in the one thing the forge couldn't work without.

A white-marble seaside city on Poromiel's southern coast, seat of Viscount — then King — Tecarus: where the displaced fliers found refuge, and where Violet won the luminary in his arena and sealed the alliance.

The collector's arena

She lit up a caged fight and left with a forge.

Cordyn is where Tecarus keeps his luminary and his gaming arena, and where Violet buys the alliance the hard way: she kills a caged venin with lightning, live, as proof of what she is. The luminary goes to Aretia to finish the forge that arms the marked ones. The city built for luxury turns out to hold the one piece the war can't be fought without.

The last refuge

When the academy burned, the fliers ran here.

After Zolya fell, about a third of the homeless fliers fled to Cordyn, and Tecarus took them in — shelter, training, and eventually a throne, once Suniva took Queen Maraya. The city that never fought becomes the stronghold the resistance runs on. It's the Cordella name's ground, too — Cat's and Syrena's kin territory.

The File

Region: Krovlan province, southern coast of Poromiel — the third-largest Poromish city, built for luxury, not war.
What it is: White-marble palace, turquoise beaches, mercantile wealth. Tecarus's opulent seat.
Who holds it: Viscount Tecarus — later King Tecarus, after Queen Maraya's death at Suniva.
The refuge: When Zolya fell, roughly a third of the displaced fliers fled here. Tecarus sheltered and trained them.
What happened here: Violet killed a caged venin with her lightning in Tecarus's gaming arena — and won his luminary for the forge.
The trade: His luminary went to Aretia for Aretian weapons. The alliance, bought and sealed.
Status: Spared venin occupation — one of the last strongholds of Poromish resistance.
