The rune-sense · Why he matters
Not flavour. Load-bearing.
Chradh is unusually sensitive to runes, and it's how the squad finds the iron lure boxes the venin come for — at Resson, later around Basgiath. A dragon who smells the trap before it springs is the least flashy edge in the fight and one of the most useful.
The second signet · What he carries
He carried one of Garrick's ancestors first.
Chradh once bonded a Garrick forebear, which is the mechanism behind Garrick holding two signets — the air everyone knows, and the distance-wielding nobody's seen in centuries, kept off the books for three books. The bond runs deep enough to hide a walker.
